The Charter of Literary Network of the Belt and Road

The Literary Network of the Belt and Road, hereinafter abbreviated as the Network or LNBR, is jointly established by literary organizations, institutions of literature publishing, literary research, literature publicizing and literary copyright protection, as well as writers, translators, critics, publishers, etc. from countries and regions supporting the Belt and Road Initiative, or, BRI partners. It aims at enhancing literary exchanges and writers’ friendship, propelling the introduction, translation and circulation ofoutstanding literary works, advancing the communication and mutual learning among civilizations, and nourishing people-to-people amity.

Mission Statement

The ancient Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road, adorned by dancing sails and tinkling caravan bells, have borne witness to the bustling exchanges, harmonious coexistence and mutual learning of various civilizations. All countries along this route, including China and your country, are like brilliant diamonds stringed together by this beautiful bond. In 2013, President Xi Jinping put forward the Initiative of jointly building the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime SilkRoad, or the Belt and Road for short, giving the time-honored Silk Road renewed vitality. In order to enhance the literary exchanges among the countries supporting the Belt and Road Initiative, the China Writers Association hereby proposes to set up a Literary Network of the Belt and Road, shortened as “the Network” or LNBR. CWA would like to invite literary organizations, institutions of literature publishing, literary research, literature publicizing and literary copyright protection as well as writers, translators, critics, publishers etc. to join this endeavour.
